I was going to add the explanation, when I got home. I would've added it sooner, but I had a golf meeting after school. My explanation is; "The pictures above represent Na (sodium chloride) dissolving in HOH (water.) The solvent is water and the solute is the sodium chloride. The first picture is a great representation of the structure of the solution because it shows the unshared pairs, that both Na and Cl are polar and how they connect. The second picture is a real life visualization of what the two substances look like and how the process takes place." If this helps with more points, that's great, but I understand if I do not get anymore.
